October 2023 Issue:

Sunflowers Vol.1

The Sun and the Moon.

The Blue Supermoon in August 2023 was about to rise. I noticed at the park there was a community garden, so I ran over to check it out. As the sun set, I snapped some pictures of this sunflower before running back over to the pond to watch the moonrise. I made an HDR image of the sunflower and put it in front of that night's super bright supermoon. The last full moon of the summer, and the flower that follows the sun.

November 2023 Issue:

Colors of Fall

Pumpkin Galaxy: The Core of the Pumpkin.

This pumpkin is from the Glass Pumpkin Festival at Jake Pine Studio, just 15 minutes from John Glenn Astronomy Park in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. The Milky Way core is taken at the same 75mm focal length as the glass pumpkin. I love the candle effect of the MW Core, and the color mimicry throughout the image. Blues and magentas in the nebulae and glass accents, matched with a large main area of orange.

*I was so lucky to get this photo in both magazines I submitted it for. It was a fun image to create!

November 2023 Issue: Summer Sunsets.

Sunset at Oakes Quarry Park.

As I was waiting for Blue Hour, and then ultimately the stars to come out,

the sunset was beautiful on this summer night. It really demanded some

attention, and I was more than happy to stop and enjoy it for as long as it

wanted to shine.

November 2023 Issue: Creative

My composite image of The Kelpies in Falkirk, Scotland under the Milky Way! It's almost like 3 horses, but completely different. I love the different personalities of the Kelpies, one is screaming and very dramatic. The other is asking if one can not just calm down, “Must you over react about everything?”

December 2023 Issue: October Favorites Vol.1

Sometimes even light pollution can look good! Moonrise at the river downtown in Dayton, OH. Jupiter also came to say hello! It was cloudy all day. Actually, it's been rainy and cloudy for the last 4 days at least, and the clouds and rain will be back again tomorrow. But there was supposed to be a clear pocket tonight, so we ran downtown to watch the moonrise. I didn't think it would clear up quickly enough, but it sure did! The weather apps were right, and we watched the moon rise behind the city skyline over the river. Lovely evening, and my family came to keep me company.

I searched for this magazine on social media after a fellow night photographer shared that she was featured on the cover of an issue. Now I am published too!
